Gloucester Harbor

Gloucester Harbor

Gloucester Harbor is alive with the sights, sounds and smells of the sea. See the working waterfront, the fishing fleet.

Ten Pound Island, the Hammond Castle, Beauport, Eastern Point lighthouse at the end of the breakwater are all part of the allure of this coast. Watch elegant sailboats, schooners and other yachts sailing in the harbor. Poke into Smiths Cove, the home of the oldest artists' colony in America. Enjoy the sound of the gulls and the warmth of the sun.

Cape Ann

Cape Ann juts her granite coastline into the North Atlantic. Along the rocky shore watch for wonderful seabirds, fishermen hauling their traps and nets, hear the sea pounding upon the land.

As you round the headland Mr. & Mrs. Thatcher, the twin lighthouses on Thatcher's Island stand straight and tall. The lighthouses guided many ships to safety during their years of service.
